about becca

I believe our humanness is our biggest strength, yet embracing that humanness can be absolutely terrifying. It can be overwhelming when we feel lost and alone in our pain, caught between “too much” and “not enough”, and feeling stuck in trying to be who we think we “should” be. As a therapist, I aim to build a safe and gentle space for folks to land and bring their whole, messy, authentic self. This means meeting you where you're at, and trusting that you know yourself best. For me, being a therapist means sitting in the mud with you, wading into the messiness together, and gently moving towards a place where you can listen to, connect with, and trust yourself.
Through this, I try to invite an opportunity to experiment and let ourselves be curious as we gently tend to some of the sticky knots that have wound themselves around tender places. Maybe we have been taught through relationships and the often chaotic world that our humanness, feelings, and imperfections are unsafe to express. Although therapy can often feel like it's meant to be a serious place, we express emotions in so many different flavours and colours. Humor is resilience, I love weaving playfulness, creativity, and earth-based relationship into my practice.
I strive to create a space where everyone of diverse cultural backgrounds, sexualities, gender identities, and religious beliefs feel welcomed, embraced, and supported. With this principle as a guiding force, I acknowledge that I am still and will always be learning, and there is so much that I don’t know. I am committed to continuing to learn how to best serve folks who have their own unique life experiences that differ from my own.
